March for Life 2022

March for Life 2022 ascending Capitol Hill on the way to the Supreme Court

I participated on Friday, January 21st in the 49th annual March for Life in Washington, D.C. This year's March commemorated the infamous 1973 Supreme Court decisions that imposed abortion on demand in the United States and the over sixty three million abortions occurring since then. While frigid weather and the ongoing pandemic raised challenges this year, an estimated ~150,00 participants braved the elements to proclaim the importance of protecting the tiniest and most vulnerable human lives. The potential overturning of the fictitious "right" to abortion imposed in 1973 energized the crowd with new hope. Overturning Roe will not end abortion, but it will turn a corner allowing the prolife movement to advance protective measures for the unborn.

I was not at the Rally on the Mall, as it was well underway when I arrived downtown. I positioned myself along Constitution Ave. near 12th St. where the March was already forming to step off. I took numerous pictures and a couple of videos to capture the size and the energy of the March, a sample of which are displayed here.

The banner reads "Shred for Life". He told me that "shred" is a relatively new term for riding the type of board he was riding around on.

Well at least these Dems have some sense and good judgement. Shame they are being shunned by their party.
